Father Bohdan

Today the Gospel reading tells of the woman who came to Jesus in the Pharisee's house with precious ointment. She wept at His feet, wiped them with her hair, kissed them and anointed them with the ointment. And the Pharisee looked on and thought to himself: if He were a prophet, He would know who and what kind of woman is touching Him. But the Lord saw not her sin but her love, and said: her many sins are forgiven, for she loved much. Saint Laura of Córdoba lived in the ninth century and was an abbess. We know little of her life, but her very feat speaks of quiet faithfulness and a love that does not seek its own. She led the sisters to God, and her holiness, like the love of the woman in the Gospel, was more precious than any ointment. May our hearts too, like that woman, not be afraid to bring the Lord their love, even if it seems to some out of place. May God's blessing be with you this day, and may the peace of Christ strengthen you on all your paths.
