Father Bohdan

Today the Gospel reading tells of how Christ came to the city gate of Nain, where a dead young man was being carried out, the only son of a widow. The Lord saw her tears, had compassion, and said: Do not weep. He touched the bier, and the son returned to his mother alive. On this day we remember Saint Zlata of Meglen, a very young girl who held firmly to the faith and accepted martyrdom in 1795. Her short life was a quiet but radiant witness to Christ, and the Church honors her as a great martyr. May the Lord grant us too a quiet strength in trials and tears that He notices. May God's blessing be with you and with your loved ones on this day.
