Today, on Thursday of the twentieth week after Pentecost, the Gospel tells how the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus with the question: Are you the one we have been waiting for? And in answer He did not set out to prove anything, but simply said: look, the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the poor hear good news. And He added quietly: blessed is the one who is not scandalized by me. So simple and so deep — faith is recognized not by loud words, but by the fact that life becomes warmer beside it. Today the Church commemorates Saint Aurelia of Regensburg, who lived in the tenth and eleventh centuries and died in 1027 in Regensburg. She was a hermit, that is, she chose a completely unnoticed life, hidden from sight, far from noise and praise. We know little about her ascetic feat, but this very silent standing before God, day after day, in fasting and prayer, already speaks of great courage and love. Holiness is often exactly like this — quiet, unseen by anyone, yet no less real for that. My dear ones, may this day be calm and kind for you. If today someone asks you about faith, do not rush to prove anything, simply tell them what good the Lord has done for you. May Saint Aurelia, a woman of quiet prayer, help us to value the simple minutes spent with God and with loved ones. May the blessing of the Lord remain with you, and peace in your heart.
